TYLER, Texas – Rose Queen Elizabeth Anne Stone brought a touch of royal inspiration to Peete Elementary School students during a special visit on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, morning. The Queen read to several classes and shared details about her role, encouraging young learners to embrace the joy of reading.
Queen Elizabeth Anne captivated students as she read aloud from Emily Winfield Martin's beloved book, "The Wonderful Things You Will Be." Following the story, she engaged the children in a discussion about what it means to be the Rose Queen, explaining the significance of her elaborate dress and beautiful crown, and outlining her responsibilities within the community. Her message emphasized the importance of diverse voices and experiences in fostering a love for reading and personal growth, hoping to inspire students by hearing from someone new.
The visit held a personal connection for Queen Elizabeth Anne, as her sister, Rebecca Stone, serves as a dedicated teacher at Peete Elementary School, located at 400 W. Webster St., Tyler, TX 75702.
Among those in attendance to welcome the Rose Queen were Tyler ISD Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford, alongside various school administrators and teachers from the district. The event, held right here in Tyler, provided a memorable and inspiring morning for the Peete Elementary students.
