Tyler Crowns Best Wings in Local Contest, Raises Over $1,000 for Tyler ISD Students

Tyler, TX – The "Best Wings in Tyler" contest, a collaborative effort by the Food & Beverage Academy (FBA) at Tyler ISD, KNUE, and Townsquare Media Tyler, successfully concluded in September, raising over $1,000 to benefit FBA students. The competition saw local eateries battle for top honors across several categories, with winners announced on September 25, 2023.

The contest, designed as a community fundraiser, provided a platform for local residents to celebrate their favorite wing establishments while directly supporting culinary education. Voting commenced the week of September 11, 2023, and concluded at 11:59 p.m. on September 22, 2023.

After a spirited voting period, Wing Stop's South Broadway location took home the coveted title of "Best Overall Wings." Jucy's Hamburgers, also located on South Broadway, achieved a double victory, securing awards for both "Best Hot/Spicy Wings" and "Best Traditional Wings." Rounding out the winners, The Catch was recognized for "Best Unique Flavor Wings."

The funds raised from the event will directly support the Food & Beverage Academy students at Tyler ISD, contributing to their educational experiences and resources.
