DENTON, Texas – North Texas running back Damon Bankston has been recognized with an Honorable Mention for the prestigious Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, following his record-setting performance this past week. The announcement was made on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, acknowledging Bankston's dominant outing in the Mean Green's road victory.
Bankston delivered a career-best performance on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Sun Bowl Stadium (https://www.sunbowl.org/) in El Paso, Texas, against the UTEP Miners. He carried the ball 34 times for an astounding 203 rushing yards, marking not only a personal best but also tying for the fifth-most rushing yards in a single game in North Texas program history.
