**Tyler State Park to Host "Put Paws in the Park" Benefiting SPCA of East Texas**
Tyler State Park will host "Put Paws in the Park," a special event designed to support the SPCA of East Texas, on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., aims to raise crucial awareness for animal adoption, facilitate adoptions for rescue dogs, and generate much-needed funds for the local volunteer-based nonprofit.
The partnership between Tyler State Park and the SPCA of East Texas invites community members to participate in a unique 1-mile walk or hike. For this occasion, the park's scenic Deer Run Trail will be temporarily renamed the "Put Paws in the Park Trail." Attendees are encouraged to bring their own leashed dogs or opt to walk one of the adoptable dogs from the SPCA, providing valuable exposure for the shelter animals.
Beyond promoting pet adoption and responsible pet ownership, the event encourages physical activity for both humans and their canine companions amidst the natural beauty of East Texas.
Participation requires the standard park entrance fee of $6 per person for individuals aged 13 and up. While this fee provides access to Tyler State Park, additional donations specifically for the SPCA of East Texas are highly encouraged to further their mission. Merchandise will also be available for purchase, with all proceeds directly benefiting the organization.
The SPCA of East Texas operates as a dedicated volunteer-based nonprofit, committed to providing shelter, care, and finding permanent homes for homeless animals within the community.
