Tyler ISD Bond Projects: Progress & Schedule

**Tyler ISD Bond Projects Advance Rapidly, Key Facilities Set for Completion and Renovation**

Tyler, Texas – Significant progress is accelerating across numerous Tyler Independent School District (ISD) projects, driven by the $398 million bond issue overwhelmingly approved by voters in November 2022. The district is actively pursuing its ambitious construction and renovation agenda, with several critical facilities poised for completion and major upgrades commencing in the near future.

A cornerstone of the bond program, the new Hubbard Middle School campus, officially broke ground in October 2023. This entirely new educational facility, designed to serve the growing student population, is projected to be completed and ready for occupancy by Fall 2026.

The Early College High School (ECHS) is preparing for a strategic relocation to a newly renovated space at the former Dogan campus. This move is targeted for an opening in Summer 2024 and will add eight new classrooms to the ECHS site. Additionally, four new classrooms are being added at various Early Childhood Education Centers across the district.

Extensive renovations are also slated for both Tyler High School and Legacy High School. These major upgrades, which will focus on enhancing fine arts, performing arts, and athletic facilities, are scheduled to commence in August 2024. Key firms involved in these and other district-wide projects include VLK Architects (https://www.vlkarchitects.com), Pogue Construction (https://www.pogueconstruction.com), and Gallagher Construction.

Further expanding educational and career readiness opportunities for students, a brand-new Career & Technology Center is currently under development. This state-of-the-art facility is projected to be fully operational by Fall 2025.

Tyler ISD officials report that these projects are largely proceeding on schedule and within budget, underscoring the district's commitment to modernizing its educational infrastructure for the benefit of Tyler students and the wider community.
