**Investigation Underway After Late-Night Fire Near Tyler Pounds Regional Airport**
Tyler emergency crews responded to a significant structure fire late Sunday night, May 26, near Tyler Pounds Regional Airport, resulting in the overnight closure of a portion of Highway 155 S. No injuries were reported, but an outbuilding sustained extensive damage.
The Tyler Fire Department received the call around 11:30 p.m. for a structure fire at 14789 Highway 155 S in Tyler. The blaze involved an outbuilding or shed containing various equipment, leading to significant structural damage.
Units from the Tyler Fire Department, Smith County Fire Marshal's Office, and the Smith County Pct. 5 Constable's Office were on scene, working into Monday morning to control the situation.
Due to emergency operations, Highway 155 S was closed overnight into Monday morning to ensure safety and allow crews to work effectively. Authorities confirmed the roadway was reopened to traffic by 9:00 a.m. Monday.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Smith County Fire Marshal's Office.
