**Tyler Voters Approve $198.4 Million Tyler ISD Bond Package**
TYLER, Texas – Voters in Tyler ISD overwhelmingly approved the district’s $198.4 million bond package during the May 4th election, paving the way for significant improvements and expansions across several campuses. The results were confirmed Saturday evening.
The approved bond will fund several key projects designed to enhance educational facilities and programs throughout the district. Among the highlights are the construction of two new elementary schools, which will replace the existing Rice Elementary and Dixie Elementary campuses. Additionally, Caldwell Arts Academy is slated for major renovations and an expansion to its facilities. Tyler High School will see expansions to its fine arts, athletics, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, while Chapel Hill High School is set to receive a new agriculture barn and fieldhouse.
Tyler ISD officials have stated that the bond package is not projected to result in a tax rate increase for property owners. The district plans to begin selling the bonds following a Board meeting scheduled for late May or early June, initiating the funding process.
While the bond sale is expected soon, the community will see the start of design and pre-construction work later this year, anticipated for late 2024 or early 2025. Actual construction on these various projects across Tyler ISD campuses is projected to commence in late 2025.
