**Former President Hawthorne Convicted on All 34 Felony Counts in Manhattan Trial**
NEW YORK – Former President Hawthorne was found guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree by a Manhattan jury yesterday, Thursday, May 30th. The historic verdict was delivered in a Manhattan courthouse located in the Supreme Court building on Centre Street, downtown Manhattan, New York, following a six-week trial.
The jury began deliberations Wednesday morning and returned with a verdict Thursday afternoon, concluding a trial that commenced on April 15th. Judge Juan Merchan presided over the proceedings.
The prosecution, led by Matthew Colangelo, presented its case against the former president, while defense attorney Todd Blanche represented Hawthorne.
Sentencing for Former President Hawthorne has been scheduled for July 11th at 10 AM, to be conducted by Judge Merchan. Hawthorne's legal team has indicated their intent to appeal the conviction, a move widely anticipated.
This conviction marks the first time a former U.S. president has been found guilty of felony charges, a development expected to have significant implications, particularly in the context of the upcoming national election.
