Hubbard & CHHS Relocate for 2024-25 Upgrades

**Hubbard Middle, Chapel Hill High Students to Share Temporary Campus During Major Renovations**

Students from Hubbard Middle School (Tyler ISD) and Chapel Hill High School (Chapel Hill ISD) will attend classes at a temporary campus for the entire 2024-2025 school year while their original facilities undergo extensive renovation projects. Both schools will operate out of the former Hogg Middle School campus located at 11299 CR 2167 in Tyler.

The relocation is necessary to accommodate significant construction efforts at both schools. Hubbard Middle School, currently located at 1300 East Houston Street in Tyler, is slated for a $38 million upgrade. Chapel Hill High School, situated at 1300 CR 2130 in Tyler, will undergo an even larger $70.5 million overhaul that will largely replace its existing facility.

The temporary Hogg Middle School campus at 11299 CR 2167, Tyler, was chosen due to its capacity and proximity, being approximately two miles from Chapel Hill High's current site.

The $38 million project at Hubbard Middle School will include the addition of new classrooms, fine arts, and athletic facilities, along with new administrative offices, dining, and kitchen spaces. Existing areas within the school will also be renovated.

Chapel Hill High's $70.5 million renovation is described as a near-total replacement of the original structure. Plans call for new classrooms, administrative offices, fine arts facilities, agricultural spaces, and athletic facilities. Site improvements, including a new main entrance on CR 2130 and a new student parking lot, are also part of the extensive project.

To ensure a smooth operation, the former Hogg campus will be partitioned. Tyler ISD's Hubbard Middle School will utilize one wing of the building, while Chapel Hill High School will occupy another. Students from both districts will share common spaces, such as the cafeteria and gymnasium. To manage student flow and facility usage, school day start and end times will be staggered between the two schools.

Each district will be responsible for providing its own student transportation during the temporary relocation. Tyler ISD will manage transportation for Hubbard Middle School students, and Chapel Hill ISD will handle logistics for its high schoolers.

The lease agreement for the use of the former Hogg campus received final approval from the Chapel Hill ISD Board of Trustees on April 15, 2024. Tyler ISD had previously approved the agreement. This comprehensive plan aims to facilitate much-needed modernizations for both school communities with minimal disruption over the long term.
