Tyler ISD Unveils New Logo and Comprehensive Branding Initiative

Tyler ISD officially revealed a new logo and district-wide branding initiative on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, during a Board of Trustees meeting. The refreshed visual identity aims to better reflect the district's evolution, its commitment to excellence in education, and its strong connection with the Tyler community.

The previous logo had been in use for two decades. The new design features a prominent shield shape, chosen to represent strength, protection, and legacy. Within the shield, a torch icon symbolizes knowledge, enlightenment, and progress for students and staff alike. The color palette introduces a deeper "Rose City Red," specifically honoring Tyler's heritage as the Rose City, and a bright "Legacy Gold," signifying excellence and the district's future. A custom-designed typeface, "Tyler Sans," described as modern and highly legible, completes the new branding.

The rebranding effort began in Spring 2023, with the district partnering with Push Design, a Dallas-based marketing firm, to guide the process. Extensive community feedback was gathered through surveys and focus groups conducted from May through August 2023, collecting over 1,700 responses from students, staff, parents, and other community members. The design work for the new identity was finalized last fall.

The new logo is immediately live across Tyler ISD's digital platforms, including its official website, www.tylerisd.org, and social media profiles. The physical rollout of the new branding on assets such as school signage, athletic uniforms, district vehicles, and stationery will occur incrementally over the coming months, with full integration expected to take some time across the district's numerous facilities and resources in Tyler, Texas.
