Tyler ISD Board Approves 2024-2025 School Calendar, Sets Key Dates
Tyler, Texas – The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the 2024-2025 academic calendar on March 20th, outlining important dates for students, staff, and families across the district. Students will begin the new school year on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
The calendar schedules the last day of school for students as Thursday, May 22, 2025. In total, the approved calendar includes 170 student days and 187 teacher days.
Key breaks and holidays for the 2024-2025 academic year include:
* **Labor Day:** Monday, September 2, 2024
* **Thanksgiving Break:** Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29, 2024
* **Christmas and Winter Break:** Monday, December 23, 2024, through Friday, January 3, 2025. Students will return to class on Monday, January 6, 2025.
* **Martin Luther King Jr. Day:** Monday, January 20, 2025
* **Spring Break:** Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, 2025
* **Good Friday:** Friday, April 18, 2025
Students will also have days off for staff development and holidays on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 (Election Day), and Monday, February 17, 2025. The calendar also accounts for the two-week window dedicated to STAAR testing.
In the event of inclement weather, the district has designated Friday, May 23, 2025, and Tuesday, May 27, 2025, as bad weather makeup days.
