**Tyler ISD Board Approves 2024-2025 Instructional Calendar**
The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the traditional 2024-2025 instructional calendar during its meeting on February 20, setting the key dates for students and staff for the upcoming academic year.
Students are slated to begin the 2024-2025 school year on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The final day of instruction for the year will be Friday, May 23, 2025.
The calendar includes a significant Winter Break, beginning Monday, December 23, 2024, and concluding Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Students will return to classes on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Spring Break is scheduled for Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14, 2025.
In addition to major breaks, five student holidays have been designated as staff development days. These include Monday, September 23, 2024; Monday, October 28, 2024; Monday, February 17, 2025; and Monday, April 21, 2025. January 6 and 7, 2025, also serve as staff development days, falling within the student Winter Break period.
The district has also designated two potential bad weather make-up days: Friday, March 28, 2025, and Friday, May 23, 2025. Should additional instructional days be needed due to unforeseen closures, these dates may be utilized.
The approved calendar was developed through a collaborative process by a committee comprising parents, community members, and district staff.
