**Tyler ISD Announces Key Leadership Appointments at Caldwell, Rice Elementary**
Tyler ISD has announced significant leadership changes affecting Caldwell Arts Academy and Rice Elementary School, with new principals and an executive director set to begin their roles on July 1. These appointments aim to bolster educational leadership across several campuses and at the district's central office.
Dr. LaQueisha Brown, current principal of Caldwell Arts Academy, will transition to the role of Executive Director of Elementary Education, operating from the Tyler ISD Central Office. This promotion elevates Dr. Brown to a district-level leadership position overseeing elementary education initiatives.
Succeeding Dr. Brown at Caldwell Arts Academy will be Dr. Christy Casey. Dr. Casey returns to Tyler ISD from Athens ISD, where she served as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Her long history with Tyler ISD spans 18 years, during which she held various roles including teacher, assistant principal, and principal at campuses such as Clarkston Elementary and Caldwell. She also previously served as a District Director for Elementary Education within the district. Dr. Casey has expressed enthusiasm for her return, particularly to Caldwell Arts Academy.
At Rice Elementary, current principal Dr. Tracy Johnson will move to Annie P. Hutcheson Elementary, also effective July 1.
Ms. Brandi Lewis has been named the new principal of Rice Elementary. Ms. Lewis currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Clarkston Elementary. She brings 16 years of educational experience to her new role, including time as a teacher and instructional coach at Orr Elementary and Bell Elementary before her tenure as an assistant principal.
