**Tyler ISD Board Approves 2024-25 School Calendar and High School Course Guides**

TYLER, TX – The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2024-25 school calendar and new high school course guides at its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 20th. The approved calendar, designated Option A, was selected following a community-wide vote.

Of the over 3,700 votes cast between two proposed calendar options, Option A received a significant majority, garnering 74.3% of the community's support. This calendar sets the start of the school year for Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Key dates for the upcoming academic year include a full week for Thanksgiving Break, from November 25-29, 2024. The Christmas and Winter Break will run from December 23, 2024, through January 3, 2025. Spring Break is scheduled for March 10-14, 2025, and the last day of school, an early release day, will be Friday, May 23, 2025.

Two bad weather make-up days have been designated for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, and Monday, June 9, 2025, if needed. Additional student holidays are scheduled for October 14, 2024, January 20, 2025, and February 17, 2025.

In addition to the calendar, the Board also gave its approval to the 2024-25 High School Course Guides. These guides are vital resources for all current 8th through 11th graders planning their academic future.

The course guides, available at both Tyler Legacy High School and Tyler High School, outline essential information such as endorsement requirements, four-year plans, and detailed course descriptions necessary for graduation. School counselors are slated to begin meeting with students from March 4th to March 29th to assist them in selecting courses for the next academic year.
