East Texas experienced a tense Valentine's Day, February 14, as the region was placed under a series of tornado warnings starting in the mid-afternoon due to a rotating thunderstorm.

The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Shreveport, Louisiana (www.weather.gov/shv), issued the initial Tornado Warning around 2:40 PM CST. This urgent alert encompassed residents in Anderson, Cherokee, and Henderson counties, specifically highlighting communities such as Palestine, Jacksonville, and Henderson, Texas. Radar imagery indicated a rotating thunderstorm in the area, prompting the immediate warning for public safety.
