Fresh 15 Race To Run Rain or Shine

TYLER, Texas — Tyler's annual Fresh 15 Race is set to proceed as planned this Friday, March 7, 2026, despite a forecast calling for heavy rain, strong winds, and potential thunderstorms across East Texas. Organizers, ETX Runs, confirmed the event will move forward, emphasizing that contingency plans are in place.

The popular community event, which benefits the Tyler ISD Foundation, will kick off from Broadway Square in downtown Tyler. The Fresh 15K race is scheduled to start at 7:00 AM, followed by the Fresh 5K at 7:20 AM. The Little Freshies 1K fun run, for children 12 and under, begins at 8:30 AM.

Participants are advised to monitor weather conditions closely and dress appropriately for the severe weather expected.

Packet pickup for registered runners will be available on Thursday, March 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Academy Sports & Outdoors, located on South Broadway Avenue in Tyler. Limited race day packet pickup will also be available starting at 5:30 AM at Broadway Square.

ETX Runs officials stated they have been closely monitoring weather forecasts and have communicated with city officials and emergency personnel. While the race will not be canceled prior to the event, organizers have contingency plans for immediate action should dangerous conditions arise during the races. Any decision to halt the event mid-race would be made jointly by race officials, city officials, and emergency personnel to ensure participant safety.
