**Acclaimed Broadway Musical 'Come From Away' Heads to Tyler's Cowan Center**
Tyler, Texas – The inspiring true story, "Come From Away," an acclaimed Broadway musical, is set to make its way to the Cowan Center at The University of Texas at Tyler for two performances on Wednesday, April 2nd, and Thursday, April 3rd, 2025.
The production recounts the remarkable real-life events that unfolded in Gander, Newfoundland, Canada, in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. When U.S. airspace was closed, 38 planes carrying 7,000 international passengers were unexpectedly diverted to the tiny Canadian town. With a population of just 9,000 residents, Gander famously opened its homes and hearts to the stranded travelers, offering an extraordinary display of hospitality and human connection.
"Come From Away" has garnered widespread critical acclaim, including a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical. Critics have consistently praised the show for its powerful, uplifting, and moving narrative.
Tickets for the Tyler engagement are currently on sale. Patrons have the option to purchase tickets as part of the full Broadway in Tyler season package or as individual tickets specifically for the "Come From Away" performances.
