**Tyler ISD Officially Appoints Dr. Brad Lancaster as New Superintendent**
TYLER, TX – The Tyler Independent School District Board of Trustees officially appointed Dr. Brad Lancaster as its new Superintendent during a unanimous vote on Monday, June 17. Dr. Lancaster, who was named the lone finalist for the position on May 20 following a state-mandated 21-day waiting period, is scheduled to assume his duties on July 1.
Dr. Lancaster brings extensive experience to Tyler ISD, having served as Superintendent of Red Oak ISD for the past eight years. His career also includes roles as Associate Superintendent in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and Chief Academic Officer in Sherman ISD. Earlier in his career, he worked as a teacher and assistant principal in Lake Travis ISD.
He expressed enthusiasm for his new role, emphasizing a focus on student achievement and support for educators. "Tyler ISD's best days are ahead," Dr. Lancaster stated, conveying optimism for the district's future.
Dr. Lancaster will be relocating to Tyler with his family. He and his wife, Kim, who are high school sweethearts, have three sons: Austin, who is currently attending Texas A&M Law; Brady, a student at Blinn College; and Carson, who will be a senior at Red Oak High School this coming academic year.
