**ICE Conducts Targeted Enforcement Operations in Smith County, Tyler**

**TYLER, Texas –** U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, specifically from the ERO Dallas Field Office, have been actively conducting targeted enforcement operations in Smith County, including areas in and around Tyler, effective November 6, 2025. These operations are a direct partnership with the Smith County Sheriff's Office.

The joint efforts are focused on apprehending individuals who are unlawfully present in the United States, with a specific emphasis on those who have committed crimes or pose a threat to public safety within the community. Officials confirmed these are targeted operations and not random checkpoints.

Field Office Director Katrina S. Berger emphasized the priority of these actions, stating that ICE is "prioritizing people who've violated laws and our community's safety."
