**Tyler ISD Board Appoints Dr. Brad Lancaster as New Superintendent**

**TYLER, Texas – June 25, 2024** – The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees officially appointed Dr. Brad Lancaster as Superintendent of Schools following a unanimous vote at a special meeting on Monday, June 24, 2024. The meeting was held at the **Tyler ISD Central Support Center**.

Dr. Lancaster, who was named the lone finalist on June 3, 2024, will assume his new role on July 1, 2024, succeeding Dr. Marty Crawford, whose resignation is effective June 30, 2024.

Board President Andy Bergfeld expressed strong confidence in the appointment. "We firmly believe Dr. Lancaster is the right leader to continue our trajectory of success," Bergfeld stated, highlighting Dr. Lancaster's deep understanding of the district and strong community relationships.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Lancaster served as Tyler ISD's Chief Academic Officer since July 2020. His career in education began within the **Tyler ISD** district, where he has held various leadership roles over the years.
