HENDERSON, TX – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Sunday afternoon following a collision with a car on Highway 259 North in Henderson. The crash, which occurred around 5:00 p.m. on May 26, involved a Honda sedan and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
According to preliminary reports, the Honda sedan, occupied by a single driver, was traveling southbound on Highway 259 North when it attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. At the same time, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, also with one occupant, was traveling northbound on the same highway. The sedan reportedly turned directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
The sole rider of the Harley Davidson sustained serious injuries and was transported by emergency services to Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler for treatment. The driver of the Honda sedan was not injured in the incident.
The Henderson Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved or the exact condition of the injured motorcyclist as the investigation remains ongoing.
