**Texas Comptroller Unveils New TexStats Data Dashboard**
San Marcos, Texas – Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar introduced a new TexStats data dashboard yesterday, October 2, 2025, during the Texas Economic Development Council's annual conference in San Marcos. The comprehensive online tool is designed to provide businesses, researchers, and policymakers with consolidated economic, demographic, and fiscal information from various state agencies.
Hegar emphasized that TexStats is a "game-changer" for enhancing transparency and facilitating informed decisions regarding the state's continued growth. The dashboard aggregates a wide array of data, making it easier to track key indicators for the Texas economy and population.
During the unveiling, Hegar highlighted several key statistics from 2024 that are accessible through the new dashboard. Texas's population increased by 1.6% in 2024, adding approximately 470,000 new residents. A significant portion of this growth, around 230,000 individuals, came from migration from other states, with Florida and California identified as the top places of origin for this period.
On the employment front, Texas added 380,000 jobs in 2024, representing a 2.8% increase that outpaced the national average of 1.9%. The TexStats dashboard allows users to delve into specific industry data, covering sectors such as manufacturing, technology, and energy.
The TexStats dashboard is publicly accessible at comptroller.texas.gov/texstats. The Comptroller's office plans to continuously add more datasets to the platform over time, further expanding its utility for understanding the state's dynamic landscape.
