Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary Expands With 11-Acre Acquisition in Tyler

TYLER, Texas – Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit wildlife refuge in Tyler, Texas, has expanded its sprawling property with the acquisition of an additional eleven acres, an announcement made on June 23, 2023. This strategic expansion increases the sanctuary's total land area to 161 acres, enhancing its capacity to care for rescued big cats.

The newly acquired parcel, which is entirely forested, adjoins the sanctuary's existing 150-acre facility. This natural, wooded environment is crucial for providing a more authentic and stimulating habitat for the rescued tigers, lions, and other big cats, allowing them to thrive in surroundings closer to their natural homes.

The expansion directly supports Tiger Creek's mission to provide a safe and permanent haven for abandoned, abused, and neglected exotic big cats. The added space will allow the sanctuary to accommodate more animals currently on waiting lists and respond to urgent rescue needs as they arise.
