**Tyler's Apache Belles Perform on Global Stage at Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show**
TYLER, Texas – Twenty elite dancers from Tyler Junior College's renowned Apache Belles performed alongside music superstar Usher during the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show on Sunday, February 11, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marked the iconic drill team's first appearance at a Super Bowl.
Jasilyn Schaefer, director of the Apache Belles, described the experience as "once-in-a-lifetime" and "surreal." The opportunity came through Super Bowl choreographer Luther Brown, who specifically invited the Belles. Brown has a history of working with the team, having previously collaborated on the opening of The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' headquarters in Frisco, Texas, and a video shoot conducted in Tyler.
The Belles departed for Las Vegas on February 4 and began rigorous rehearsals the following day. The intensive training allowed the student-dancers to immerse themselves in a high-level professional production environment, offering invaluable insight into the scale of such a major event.
While this was their inaugural Super Bowl performance, the Apache Belles are no strangers to national and international stages. Their extensive resumé includes twelve appearances in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, numerous Cotton Bowls and Sugar Bowls, performances at presidential inaugurations, and multiple Dallas Cowboys halftime shows.
Schaefer expressed immense pride in her team, stating that watching them represent Tyler Junior College on such a globally viewed stage was an incredible moment.
