TYLER, Texas – Two individuals were shot Wednesday night during an apparent home invasion and robbery attempt at The Arbors at Hollytree apartments in Tyler. Police say the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the 3200 block of Hollytree Drive at The Arbors at Hollytree apartments. According to Tyler Police, three male suspects forced their way into one of the residences and held several occupants at gunpoint.
During the robbery attempt, two individuals inside the apartment were shot. A 19-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, and a 17-year-old male was shot in the chest. Both victims were transported to UT Health Tyler, located at 1000 S. Beckham Ave, Tyler, TX, where their injuries were confirmed by police to be non-life-threatening.
Following the shooting, the three suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
Tyler Police Sgt. Ryan Holdaway confirmed the details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and as of Thursday morning, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information regarding the home invasion is encouraged to contact the Tyler Police Department.
