**Tyler ISD Board Approves 2024-2025 Instructional Calendar**
Tyler, TX – The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the instructional calendar for the 2024-2025 academic year during its meeting on Monday, February 12th. The new calendar establishes key dates for students and staff, following a community input process.
Students across Tyler ISD will begin the 2024-2025 school year on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024. The last day of school for students is scheduled for Friday, May 23rd, 2025.
Major breaks for the upcoming academic year include a full week for Thanksgiving, observed from November 25th through November 29th, 2024. Winter Break will span two weeks, from December 23rd, 2024, to January 3rd, 2025. Spring Break is set for March 10th through March 14th, 2025.
Additionally, students will have holidays for staff development on Monday, October 14th, 2024; Monday, January 6th, 2025; Monday, February 17th, 2025; and Friday, April 18th, 2025.
The approved calendar also designates Friday, March 28th, 2025, and Friday, May 23rd, 2025, as bad weather make-up days. Should these days not be required for make-up instruction, they will serve as student holidays, with May 23rd also functioning as an early release day.
The adopted calendar, identified as "Option A," was developed by a diverse committee comprising parents, community members, and staff. Two calendar options were presented to the community in a survey conducted from January 16th to January 24th. "Option A" received significant support, garnering 73% of the more than 5,100 responses received from the community.
