**Tyler ISD Voters to Decide on $488.3 Million Bond Package in May 4 Election**

Tyler, Texas residents will head to the polls on Saturday, May 4, to vote on a proposed $488.3 million bond package for Tyler ISD. The measure, split into two separate propositions, addresses facility upgrades, new construction, and security enhancements across the district.

Proposition A, totaling $443.3 million, focuses on district-wide improvements. Key projects outlined in this proposition include the construction of a new high school, modernization efforts for several elementary schools, upgrades to the Career and Technology Center, enhanced security measures across campuses, and improvements to fine arts and athletic facilities.

Proposition B, valued at $45 million, is dedicated solely to athletic facilities. If approved, it would fund the construction of a new stadium at Legacy High School and a comprehensive renovation of the existing stadium at Tyler High School.

The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees officially called for the bond election on February 20, following extensive work by a Bond Steering Committee. This committee, formed in Spring 2023, conducted 14 public meetings to gather input and develop the recommendations presented to the board.

District officials state that the proposed bond package is not expected to result in a tax rate increase for Tyler ISD property owners.
