Tyler ISD $544.8M Bond Proposals on Nov Ballot

**Tyler ISD $544.8 Million Bond Package Set for November 7 Election**

Tyler ISD voters will decide on a $544.8 million bond package in the upcoming November 7 general election, which district officials state will not result in a tax rate increase for homeowners. The comprehensive proposal, divided into three propositions, aims to address critical facility needs, expand academic programs, and enhance district-wide infrastructure.

**Proposition A**, the largest component at $340.5 million, focuses on significant campus renovations and new construction. This includes the reconstruction of Austin, Clark, and Ramey Elementary Schools. A major undertaking within Proposition A is the plan for a new high school, intended to replace the existing John Tyler High School, to be built at 3400 North Broadway. Additionally, Bell Elementary and Hubbard Middle School are slated for full rebuilds, alongside district-wide security and technology upgrades across all campuses.

**Proposition B**, totaling $144.3 million, is dedicated to the expansion of career and technical education (CTE) opportunities. This proposition includes the construction of a new Career and Technology High School, which would be located at 2600 West Gentry. Beyond the new CTE campus, Proposition B also allocates funds for a new competition gymnasium at Tyler Legacy High School.

**Proposition C** requests $60 million for the development of a new district-wide aquatic center. This facility, planned to be constructed adjacent to Rose Stadium, would feature a natatorium and a competition pool, designed for both school athletic use and broader community access.

The bond proposals are the result of extensive planning by the Citizens Facilities Planning Committee. Comprised of over 100 community members, the committee dedicated months to the process, holding 17 meetings and investing thousands of hours before presenting their recommendations to the Tyler ISD Board of Trustees on August 15. The Board officially approved calling the bond election just a week later, on August 22.

Early voting for the November 7 election is scheduled to begin on October 23. Residents seeking more information on the bond propositions are encouraged to visit TylerISDBond.com.
