**Tyler ISD Board Approves 2024-2025 School Calendar**

Tyler, Texas – The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees officially adopted the academic calendar for the 2024-2025 school year during its meeting on December 12, 2023, setting key dates for students and staff across the district.

Students in Tyler ISD will kick off the new school year on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The last day of school for students is scheduled for Thursday, May 22, 2025, which will be an early release day. Another early release day is set for Friday, December 20, 2024, just before the Winter Break.

Winter Break will commence on Monday, December 23, 2024, and conclude on Friday, January 3, 2025. Students will return to classes on Monday, January 6, 2025, following a professional development day for staff. Spring Break for the district is scheduled from Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14, 2025.

The calendar also includes several student holidays linked to staff workdays. Students will be off on Monday, October 14, 2024, Monday, February 17, 2025, and Friday, April 18, 2025. As noted, January 6, 2025, is also a student holiday for staff professional development.

In preparation for potential school closures due to inclement weather, two bad weather make-up days have been designated: Friday, May 23, 2025, and Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The adopted calendar features a total of 174 instructional days for students. Teachers will have 187 contract days, running from August 6, 2024, to May 22, 2025.

The calendar was developed by a diverse committee comprising parents, teachers, staff, and community members. This committee gathered feedback before presenting the proposed schedule to the Tyler ISD Board for official approval.
