The Tyler Independent School District's Board of Trustees officially approved a $236,259,425 budget for the 2024-2025 school year during its meeting on May 20th. The comprehensive budget prioritizes key areas including staff compensation, technology upgrades, and new instructional resources, alongside continued investment in student support services and facility improvements across the district in Tyler, Texas.

For property owners within the Tyler ISD boundaries, the total tax rate will remain unchanged from the current year, staying at $1.0832 per $100 valuation. This rate is comprised of $0.7852 for Maintenance & Operations (M&O) and $0.2980 for Interest & Sinking (I&S).

Dr. Marty Crawford, Superintendent of Tyler ISD, characterized the budget as a "strategic investment in our students, staff, and facilities." Dwain Light, the district's Chief Financial Officer, highlighted the meticulous planning, stating that the budget development "prioritized fiscal responsibility" to ensure the district remains in "robust financial health."

The district facilitated public engagement through two budget workshops and public hearings held on April 22nd and May 13th, allowing community members to provide input before the final approval. The official adoption of the tax rate for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is scheduled for August 2024.
