**Incumbents Unseated in Tyler ISD Board Races Following May 4th Election**

TYLER, Texas — Voters in the Tyler Independent School District ushered in significant changes to the school board during the May 4th general election, with two incumbent trustees defeated in contested races. One trustee was re-elected without opposition.

In District 2, Rev. Orenthia Mason secured a clear victory over incumbent John D. Campbell. Mason garnered 1,223 votes, representing 64.55% of the total ballots cast in that district. Campbell received 671 votes.

Similarly, the District 7 race saw Regina Tillis unseat incumbent Andy Bergfeld. Tillis won with 1,607 votes, accounting for 55.45% of the District 7 vote. Bergfeld finished with 1,291 votes.

Patricia Taylor was re-elected to her District 1 seat without opposition.

The official canvassing of the election results is scheduled for Monday, May 13th, at 5:00 p.m. The proceeding will take place at the Tyler ISD Board Room, located at 1319 W. 10th Street, Tyler.

The newly elected board members are set to be sworn into office on Monday, May 20th.
