Tyler ISD Finalizes 2024-2025 School Calendar

TYLER, TX – The Tyler ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the academic calendar for the 2024-2025 school year during its meeting on January 22, 2024. The new calendar, designated as Option A, was chosen after receiving 65.5% of votes from parents and employees.

Students in Tyler ISD will begin classes on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, and the last day of school for the academic year will be Thursday, May 29, 2025.

Key breaks scheduled for the upcoming year include Thanksgiving Break from November 25-29, 2024. The Christmas and Winter Break will run from December 23, 2024, through January 6, 2025, with students returning to school on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Spring Break is set for March 10-14, 2025.

Additional days off for students throughout the year are scheduled for Monday, October 14, 2024; Monday, January 6, 2025 (a staff work day); Monday, February 17, 2025; and Friday, April 18, 2025.

Early release days are planned for Friday, December 20, 2024, ahead of the winter holidays, and on the final day of school, Thursday, May 29, 2025.

The district has also designated two bad weather days: Friday, April 18, 2025, and Friday, May 23, 2025. These days will only be utilized if schools are closed due to inclement weather.
