TYLER, Texas – The Texas Rose Festival Association has officially announced Margaret Grace O’Bryan of Tyler as the 93rd Texas Rose Festival Queen. The announcement, made on January 20, 2024, sets the stage for O’Bryan to represent the city throughout 2026, culminating in the 93rd festival scheduled for October 2026.
O’Bryan, a proud Tyler native, is currently pursuing a degree in early childhood education at the University of Alabama. Her connection to the esteemed festival runs deep, embodying a rich family tradition. Her mother, Amy O’Bryan, served as a Lady-in-Waiting in 1993, and her grandmother, Carolyn O’Bryan, held the same honor in 1968. Growing up immersed in the festival's parades and events, her selection marks a significant personal milestone.
Joining Queen O’Bryan in the Royal Court is Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" Hunt, also from Tyler, who has been named Duchess of the Rose Garden. Hunt, like O’Bryan, attends the University of Alabama, where she is studying finance. Her family also has a history with the festival, as her father, Joe Hunt, served as a Royal Escort for the 1990 festival.
The court further includes the Ladies-in-Waiting: Elizabeth Mary "Liza" French, Addison Grace French, and Mary Elizabeth "Mae" French. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, their mother, Liz French, was a Lady-in-Waiting in 1990, further illustrating the multi-generational tradition upheld by the Texas Rose Festival.
The appointments underscore the enduring legacy and community spirit of the Texas Rose Festival, a cherished annual event celebrating Tyler's heritage as the "Rose Capital of America." For more information about the festival, visit TexasRoseFestival.com.
