Tyler, TX – The Starbucks location at 4810 S Broadway Ave. in Tyler, situated near Cumberland Park, will permanently close its doors this Friday, January 26th, 2024, after nearly two decades of serving the community.
Customers began receiving email notifications and observed closure signs posted on the store's doors as of Monday, January 22nd. The decision to close reportedly stems from persistent challenges, including ongoing issues with crime, drug use, and homelessness in the vicinity of the store.
The South Broadway Starbucks originally opened in 2004, becoming a long-standing part of Tyler's retail landscape. The location has faced various incidents over the years, notably a drive-thru shooting that occurred in August 2022.
Starbucks has confirmed that all employees currently working at the 4810 S Broadway Ave. store will be transferred to other existing Starbucks locations within Tyler. Customers can continue to visit other Starbucks stores in the area, including those located on Troup Highway and Old Jacksonville Highway, for their coffee needs after the closure.
