**UT Health East Texas Opens New Clinic and Urgent Care Center in West Tyler**

**TYLER, Texas** – UT Health East Texas officially opened its new Clinic and Urgent Care – West Tyler facility on Monday, November 4, 2024, expanding access to comprehensive healthcare services for residents in the rapidly growing West Tyler area.

Located at 1728 WSW Loop 323, the 7,800-square-foot center is conveniently situated near Faulkner Park. The facility is designed to meet diverse patient needs, offering primary care, urgent care, and occupational medicine services. Additionally, it provides on-site diagnostic capabilities including walk-in X-rays and a dedicated lab draw station.

The new clinic features a thoughtful layout with 10 exam rooms specifically for primary care, 5 rooms for urgent care, and two separate procedure rooms to enhance patient flow and service delivery.

Dr. Kirk Calhoun, CEO of UT Health East Texas, emphasized the strategic importance of the new location. "This new facility is a direct response to the increasing demand for accessible healthcare services in West Tyler," Calhoun stated. "We are committed to growing with our community and ensuring residents have convenient access to quality care right where they live."

The primary care clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For immediate needs, the urgent care center is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Dr. Ben Raimer, president ad interim of The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), which oversees UT Health East Texas, also highlighted the community benefit. "New facilities like this are vital for strengthening community health infrastructure and providing essential services where they are needed most," Raimer commented.
