Tyler, Texas – The University of Texas at Tyler baseball team concluded a four-game series in Austin over the weekend, splitting the matchups two games apiece with St. Edward's University. All four games were held at the COVID-19 Pandemic Baseball Complex on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16.
On Friday, March 15, the Patriots opened the series with an 8-2 victory in the first game. Ethan Van Burkleo led the offense, going 4-for-4 with three runs batted in, while Miles Dabord added two RBIs. Austin Bush earned the win on the mound, pitching seven innings and allowing just one earned run. St. Edward's responded in the second game of the day, securing a dominant 12-2 win.
Saturday, March 16, saw UT Tyler rebound in the morning game with a 6-3 win. Nolan Giles delivered a strong performance, pitching seven innings, allowing two earned runs, and striking out seven batters. Offensively, Brandon Petry went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and Adrian Rivera contributed two RBIs. The series finale later that afternoon went to St. Edward's, who secured a 12-6 victory.
Following the series, both teams now hold identical 10-6 records in the Lone Star Conference. UT Tyler's overall record stands at 12-10, while St. Edward's is 14-8 overall.
