UT Tyler Women Win NCAA Title, Men Place 7th

**Patriots Make History at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships**

WICHITA, Kansas – The UT Tyler Patriots track and field teams delivered an unprecedented performance at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held this past weekend, March 7-9, at the Wichita State University Complex. The event saw the women’s 4x400 relay team secure the program's first-ever NCAA National Championship title, while the men’s team achieved its highest national finish, placing seventh overall.

The historic victory for the women's program came from the 4x400 relay team, comprised of Isabella Presley, Sofia Dames, Mariah Smith, and Ashtyn Pringle. The quartet clocked an astounding 3:40.80, shattering their own school record and dominating the field to claim the national title. They outpaced Pittsburg State, who finished in second place. This monumental achievement contributed to the women's team tying for 18th place nationally.

The UT Tyler men's team also celebrated their best-ever performance at a national championship, securing a remarkable 7th place finish nationwide. Standout athlete Jackson Davis was a significant point-scorer, earning a 2nd place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:49.07, and a 3rd place finish in the mile with a time of 4:01.03. Ashton Wells also had a noteworthy championship, securing 3rd place in the 400m, running a swift 46.85.

Further adding to the men's success, the Distance Medley Relay team – featuring Jackson Davis, Ashton Wells, Brandon Arenas, and Sacks – captured 2nd place with a time of 9:42.02. The men's 4x400 relay team, consisting of Ashton Wells, Jackson Davis, Dames, and Butler, also made a strong showing, finishing 4th with a time of 3:09.11.
