**East Texas Youth Orchestra Announces UT Tyler Cowan Center as New Home**

TYLER – The East Texas Youth Orchestra (ETYO) has officially established the UT Tyler Cowan Center as its new permanent home base, encompassing all rehearsals, administrative offices, and mainstage performances. This strategic move aims to provide the orchestra with access to state-of-the-art facilities and foster collaborative opportunities within the university community.

The relocation grants ETYO full access to the Cowan Center's professional classrooms, practice rooms, and its renowned concert hall. Dr. Larry Mellichamp, Executive Director of the Cowan Center, highlighted the potential for synergy, stating, "This is a chance for great collaboration between the orchestra and UT Tyler students and faculty." The partnership is expected to enrich the cultural landscape for both the university and the broader East Texas region.

ETYO will inaugurate its new home with a grand opening concert on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cowan Center, located at 3900 University Blvd, Tyler. This landmark performance will feature the East Texas Youth Orchestra joining forces with the UT Tyler Patriot Singers to present Beethoven's Symphony No. 9.

This new arrangement signifies a long-term commitment, with ETYO already scheduling future major performances at the venue. Upcoming concerts include their fall performance on November 10, 2024, and their spring concert on May 11, 2025, both to be held at the UT Tyler Cowan Center in Tyler.
